My Role

As part of the original team at A+E’s in-house production company, 45th and Dean, I pitched, wrote, directed, and produced over 100 short-form documentaries and animated explainer videos for A+E and History Channel, in support of the larger editorial strategy to build out History’s original content offerings for social and digital platforms. While here, I produced History’s first original viral video about a chicken living for two years with its head cut off, established digital-first best practices, and developed a women’s history series in partnership with Twitter, shedding light on untold stories of women who made invaluable contributions to the world. I also hosted a biography series, piloted podcasts, directed talent, and guided historians and experts with limited on-camera experience to bring out their best performances. Operationally, I led a team of freelance creatives with a "batching" production strategy to increase output.
